FAQs
- What is included on the Evaluation Board?
A single MCP-1200 chip is socketed with all external interfaces supported. Small DC motors may be driven with the on-board 3-amp H-bridge driver. External interfaces are available for motor drivers and an incremental encoder.
- Are multiple axes supported?
The SYNC pin is available on the connector but only one MCP-1200 is installed on the Evaluation Board. In order to synchronize multiple axes the same clock must be supplied to all MCP-1200 chips.
MCP-1200 Evaluation Board
Get up and running quickly to test your system using the MCP-1200. A USB and RS232 port are available to issue commands directly to the MCP-1200 on the Evaluation Board using a terminal program.
- USB 2.0 and RS-232 Serial Interfaces
Simply use a terminal program to communicate to the MCP-1200 via serial connections. You can configure and read/write to all accessible registers.
- 12-bit DAC, PWM, Step/Dir and 3 Amp H-Bridge Outputs
Use the on-board H-bridge motor driver for controlling small motors. The DAC and pulse outputs can interface to external motor drivers.
- Incremental Encoder Interface
Use a standard incremental encoder with channel A and B outputs. An Index pulse may also be connected to perform custom homing sequences. Many new features added.
